PTE (Pearson Test of English)
The PTE Academic assesses candidates’ English skills in speaking, writing, reading, and listening to determine their readiness for international education.
Speaking and Writing Skills (54 - 67 minutes)
This segment assesses candidates with their two key communication skills: speaking and writing.
You’ll have 25 seconds to read the prompt and get ready, then 30 seconds to record your response. Remember, you can only record your response one time.
Reading Section (29 - 30 minutes)
This segment evaluates candidates on their capacity to comprehend written instructions in the language.
Listening (30 - 43 minutes)
The listening segment of the PTE Academic spans from 30 to 43 minutes.
Active listening and information retention are crucial during this stage.
When you’re done with your PTE Academic test, you’ll get a Score Report and Skills Profile. These will help you understand your test score, language skills, and areas to work on.
An Overall Score of between 10 and 90, which grades your English ability against the Global Scale of English.
Individual scores for Communicative Skills–speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
